About Anita Gatley
Planning that dream holiday, business trip, overseas wedding or idyllic honeymoon? Then why not employ the help of a qualifiied, experienced professional - me!
With over 25 years experience I can arrange anything from airline tickets, accommodation, cruises, tours, assist with visa/passport information, show tickets, car rental, and insurance. I have worked in both the retail and corporate travel environment. I take pride in my work and building that all-important client/professional relationship is very important to me. Prior to having children I was Programme Leader of the Certificate in Travel Studies at AUT for 3 years and worked as a Workplace Assessor for ATTTO (The Travel Industry Training Body).
Married to Paul we live in Mt Albert with our 3 teenage children - this affords me the luxury of being a working-from-home Mum who can 'be there' to raise our children. We enjoy travelling as a family - so I have plenty of tips on this!
My specialty is Destination Wedding, Honeymoon and Romance Travel - call 0508 HONEYMOON or email anita@weddingtravel.co.nz

Anita has been with Travel Managers Group for 15 Years, and in the travel industry for 29 years! Over this time her best memory and favourite moment being a member of Travel Managers Group is winning a marketing award for her Wedding Business. Anita has many clients which are special and loyal, one of Anita's clients from when Anita first started with Travel Managers has been a client of hers for 20 years, and used to own the travel agency which she worked at, so knows exactly her value. Anita is so thrilled to be part of this group and wouldn't consider going anywhere else! She has close friends and colleagues who she wouldn't have met had she not been part of Travel Managers Group.
What is the most memorable trip you have booked for a client?
Have booked many weddings and honeymoons in the past 15 yrs but the first is always the most memorable. They had 50 guests and wanted to marry in Thailand. At the time I had a 5yr old a 3yr old and a 6 week old baby - from then on I started specialising in the romance niche market
What is the most impactful customer service you have offered?
Being able to solve problems and admitting mistakes when they occur - I am human and sometimes it's not my fault but being able to own up for mistakes is very hard but necessary and you always feel better when you are totally honest!
What are the best thanks you have received from a client?
Referrals are actually the biggest compliment!
What has been the biggest change/challenge you have experienced in the travel industry in the last 20 years? And how did you overcome that change/challenge?
Covid without a doubt and we aren't yet through this! For the first year I worked full-time as an online shopper at Countdown as well as trying to keep up with cancellations/amendments. The 2nd year I worked 6 days over 2 jobs doing admin in a joinery factory and saliva testing for Rako Science as well as trying to fit travel in when the borders started to open - am still doing this! I overcame this by just taking it in my stride and am working as hard as I can
If you've answered Covid to the above, is there anything else significant you've found has impacted the travel industry in the last 20 years?
Working in Auckland city we had power cuts for a week so had to work from home and write paper tickets and of course the obligatory disasters but they pale in comparison to Covid.
