Begin your voyage with a late-night stay in Venice and give your sea legs a warm-up with a gondola ride through the canals at sunset. This voyage sails to the Dalmatian Coast where everyone, it seems, wishes they were going. Explore the main square in the old town of Koper in Slovenia and cobbled lanes lead you all the way down to the sea. Of Hvar, Condé Nast Traveler says this: “The Dalmatian coast is fast becoming the French Riviera of the east, and Hvar is unquestionably its St Tropez.” The air smells of lavender, as the rocky hills surrounding the town are purple with it. And the water in the bay is crystal clear, though you may not notice for all the yachts. At sunset, walk up to the 16th-century Spanjola Fortress and see atmospheric views of the town and the Adriatic Sea.

The ship also stays late in Dubrovnik, a walled city of golden stone. Take the cable car up to Mount Srdj for an amazing view of the town. Or travel into the fertile Konavle Valley for a look at the historic mills of the Ljuta River. A late stay in Rome and one in Florence, and stops in Portofino and finally Monte-Carlo, are the perfect way to end this magical voyage.

This voyage leaves from Venice and returns there, which is undoubtedly why it’s one of our most popular. In between, you will sail the Dalmatian coast, with ancient cliffside cities on the shimmering Adriatic Sea.

Because Azamara ships are smaller, we will be able to slowly sail Croatia’s spectacular inside passage before arriving at the island of Hvar. This tranquilly gorgeous harbor has been mostly popular with yachters, and many celebrities trying not to be spotted. Or are they? Go where the celebrities go to escape the spotlight – on an off-road exploration through the island’s remote villages and rolling vineyards.

Smell the lavender, and work up an appetite for lobster with homemade spaghetti and a glass of local wine. In Kotor, you can walk all the way up to St. John’s Fortress on top of the ancient stone walls. The views are spectacular. Dubrovnik is outstanding – the whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Walk along the ancient walls so beautiful you can’t help but feel joy. Then shop for leather, Konavle embroidery, or gold – joy of a different kind.

Then back to where you started, Venice, for an overnight there – reminding you why you booked this voyage.

Amalfi & Dalmatian Coasts

10 nights from $10,629*

Special Inclusions

- All beverages including selected beer, wine & spirits served throughout the voyage
- One AzAmazing Evening in a selected port
- Port charges, government fees & gratuities
- 2 night post-cruise land & rail package including accommodation at Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal and Venice to London (Overnight) Orient Express Passage.

Lover of the classics? You’ll love kicking off this voyage in Civitavecchia. You’ll likely fly into Rome – a day early, we might suggest, if you want to fully experience this bustling Italian city. Then it’s off to more classics. A classic thing to do in Amalfi is to rent a Fiat 500, the quintessential Italian car, and drive along the Amalfi coast, the quintessential Italian road. But drive slowly; the narrow lanes, switchback corners, and terrifying drop-offs make any other speed too frightening. The views are well worth the trip. And get a good night’s sleep, for it’s off to Taormina next, where a cannoli tasting on top of Europe’s largest active volcano is on tap.

On the Greek island of Corfu, wander the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, and then try a Greek coffee under the vaulted archways of the Liston. Or drive out to the countryside to Agni, the gourmet center of Corfu, and sample the pickled octopus in a classic taverna. On the Dalmatian Coast, tiny Kotor lies hidden from the open sea, tucked into a fjord. Visit the medieval Old Town and find any one of the splendid piazzas with boutiques and more octopus, grilled here with olives, tomatoes, and onions. Oh my!

After a stop at the charming island of Hvar, sail to Slovenia. A late night here gives time for a trip to the Škocjan Caves, the largest underground canyon in the world. Above ground, venture out to the capital of Ljubljana and ride the glass elevator up a wooded hill to Ljubljana Castle. After the views in the tower, find the bistro for Slovenian comfort food. But save room for the best pizza you’ve ever tried in Venice, on your last stop. Nine nights. Bountiful cultural opportunities. And did we mention the food?
